Updating xbmc

You can select a different interval to scan your media databases (Audio, Video, Both) or you can set a cron-style timer for greater control.

If you are playing an audio or video file when the timer starts it can skip the library update process until it is completed so that you're media experience is not interrupted.

I forgot to ask, should I do manual or auto updates to achieve this?

Should I update from 3.0 to 4.0 and then 5.0 or would you recommend updating straight from 3.0 to 5.0?

Hi guys, So, I've been using Openelec on my raspberry pi with XBMC for over two years and I've decided to finally update it to KODI (Helix), but there's way too much information around and it can get confusing and I wonder if there's a guide step by step to update from XBMC Frodo to Kodi Helix on my rasperrby pi or if anyone can help me with this. Helix updates but since DB schema and settings frequently change between XBMC/Kodi releases our recommendation is to make a backup first (via the OE settings addon, then copy off-box).

Then either clean install the new version and copy things you need from the backup, or copy the release tarball to the update folder and see what happens. the same OE HTPC box since long before Frodo without issues, but then I deliberately run a very un-exotic configuration that doesn't attract problems.

The Kodi Team and other developers have ported the program to run on the Raspberry Pi.We shall particularly focus on updating the software for the Apple TV 2.Your Apple TV 2 should be jailbroken to install/update XBMC 14.0.Couldn't find it in the SVN and the only set of terminal commands I found meant for that seemed to crash the entire OS (Re-setting up xbmc now...but am using the image from this thread that uses an older xbmc).
